CONTEXT
Delirium can cause confusion, hallucinations, and intense fear in hospitalized patients. Slagelse Hospital wanted to help healthcare professionals better understand the patient’s experience and how everyday hospital routines can contribute to their distress.
SOLUTION
In collaboration with Signe Hjuler la Cour Mathiesen, CCRN & PhD-student, Khora’s film team produced an immersive 360° film following an elderly patient experiencing delirium. Through first-person storytelling, distorted sounds, and hallucinations, viewers experience the patient’s confusion and fear while seeing how healthcare staff can influence and de-escalate the situation.
IMPACT
Used in healthcare workshops, the film helps staff gain a deeper understanding of delirium from the patient’s perspective. The experience encourages empathy, reflection, and more compassionate, patient-centered care.
