Sit Stand Smoke | CURTIN // KEATING

Client: CURTIN // KEATING

Target Medium: Meta Quest 3

In collaboration with co-directors Linda Curtin and David Keating, Khora contributed to the editing and post-production of the short VR film Sit Stand Smoke – in conjunction with cinematographer and editor, Peter Collis. This film delves into the motivations and circumstances behind Seán Keating’s painting Men of the South (1921-22), revealing the artist’s feelings and misgivings about the decisions made by the new Irish State as the Irish War of Independence drew to a close.

Sit Stand Smoke was exhibited at Crawford Art Gallery in Cork, Ireland, from April 26 to May 5, 2024. The exhibition was highly successful, selling out each day and receiving rave reviews.

Client’s Testimony

”Collaborating with Khora was immensely exciting from the outset. Our initial plans were close to being too ambitious, but on the basis of Khora’s encouragement and advice (plus a bunch of camera tests) we chose to embrace creative and technical risks that we might have otherwise backed off. Luckily for us, the Khora team are hugely experienced and technically resourceful. They gave great guidance and were a real pleasure to work with. Huge thanks to Peter and Steve and the whole Khora crew.
