The Doors | Manifest

The Doors is a mixed reality experience that allows participants into the uprooted memories of deported individuals, guiding them through a symbolic return journey that confronts the “doors of no return”.

Accompanied by voices of memory, participants walk alongside the deported – encountering dehumanization, alienation, and the imposed construction of the “Black Human” as an identity. Tracing their stories and uncovering what has been left behind and what silently travels across time, the experience culminates in an inner confrontation opening our mental doors toward a deeper understanding of our shared humanity.

Created in collaboration with artist-poet, Albert Morisseau Leroy dit Manalone, musician and sound designer, Calvin Yug, and pop artist, Fred Ebami, the project was part of MANIFEST 2024, with Khora bringing the vision to life through technical expertise.
